The Prisoner (1967) Synopsis

The Prisoner (1967) is a spy Science Fiction television series produced by ITV that debuted in September of 1967.

Created by Patrick McGoohan and George Markstein The Prisoner (1967) follows the story of a unnamed British spy who quits his job and finds himself held prisoner in a mysterious village that is completely isolated from the mainland. The Village is populated by hundreds of people who do not have names only numbers according to the importance they have in The Village’s hierarchy. The Prisoner (1967) depicted a number of surreal story lines over the course of 17 episodes.

The Prisoner 81967) aired one season. The remake of the series co-produced by ACM and ITV starring Ian McKellen and James Caviezel will premiere in November of 2009.
