Locked Up Abroad Synopsis

Locked Up Abroad is a documentary series airing on the National Geographic channel. Each episode focuses on an American person or couple who became incarcerated in a foreign prison while on vacation, usually because they were smuggling drugs.

Some of the episodes involve travelers who were kidnapped or taken hostage while traveling abroad. The series is based on a similar show in the United Kingdom, titled Banged Up Abroad.
