Agatha Christie’s Marple Synopsis

Agatha Christie’s Marple is a crime TV series produced by ITV that debuted in December of 2004.

Based on Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple books this latest screen adaptation follows elderly spinster Miss Marple, who lives in a small village of St. Mary Mead and who is also an amateur detective. Agatha Christie wrote 12 Miss Marple novels in total and she is one of her most famous characters.

Agatha Christie’s Marple was portrayed by Geraldine McEwan from first to third season and she was then replaced by Julia McKenzie. Fourth season should air in Autumn of 2009 and fifth season has been commissioned by ITV.
