Ice Road Truckers Synopsis
Ice Road Truckers was a History Channel series documenting the lives and jobs of men who drive 18-wheeler trucks carrying equipment and supplies across ice roads (frozen lake beds) in the Canadian Northwest to remote diamond mines. It was created by Thom Beers, the same producer behind Deadliest Catch and Monster Garage.
When Ice Road Truckers debuted in 2007, it gave History its highest ratings for original programming in the network’s history. Although the series has finished its run, 20the Century Fox purchases the rights and is developing a fictional version for the big screen.
