New Girl Synopsis

New Girl is a situation comedy television series produced by Fox Network that premiered in September of 2011.

Created by Elizabeth Meriwether New Girl follows the story of Jessica Day (played by Zooey Deschanel), who is a teacher in her late twenties. After she breaks up with her boyfriend she moves with three guys into a new apartment that she has found on Craigslist. Her roommates are Nick, a bartender, Schmidt, a womanizer and Coach, former athlete who is now a trainer.

Unforgettable Synopsis

Unforgettable is a crime drama television series produced by CBS that premiered in September of 2011.

Created by Ed Redlich and John Bellucci Unforgettable follows the story of a former police officer Carrie Wells (played by Poppy Montgomery) who suffers from a rare condition called hyperthymesia which makes her remember every single thing. She is asked by her former boyfriend and partner to help on a murder investigation but Carrie still has to solve the most important case to her – how her sister was murdered.

With the unveiling of its first tablet, the Kindle Fire, Amazon has done more than just deal a serious blow to Apple dominance in the market. It has also guaranteed itself new Amazon Instant Video customers. Lots and lots of them.

Amazon Kindle Fire

Amazon today unveiled a host of new Kindles, one of which is more than just an eBook reader. The Kindle Fire is an Android tablet boasting a 7″ touchscreen, a brand new Web browser, access to the app store, and unlimited cloud storage for Amazon content. And all for the low, low price of $199 – $300 cheaper than the base model Apple iPad.

It is estimated that Apple will lose $50 on each Kindle Fire sold, but that’s OK, it really is, because Amazon is going to make its money elsewhere. This is a classic case of offer up the hardware at a loss in order to win big further down the line. Very similar to how the video games business works.

Prime Suspect (2011) Synopsis

Prime Suspect (2011) is a crime drama television series produced by NBC that premiered in September of 2011.

Based on the UK series of the same name Prime Suspect (2011) follows the story of Detective Jane Timoney (played by Maria Bello), who is tough as nails and a brilliant homicide detective. She is transferred into New York City’s Homicide department and even though her new colleagues have problems with her abrupt manner they cannot deny she is brilliant at her job.

You’re probably sick of hearing about the whole Netflix/Qwikster debacle by now. As am I. So perhaps we should give the last word on the subject (for a week or at the very least) to Netflix co-founder Marc Randolph.

What The Flix?

First, a very brief overview of the situation as it stands:

Netflix has long been transitioning from a DVDs-by-mail company into a streaming video company. In July Netflix separated the two sides of its business so that you chose one or the other for $7.99, which left those who wanted both paying $6 more than they did previously.

Then came the next step of actually spinning the DVD business off and calling it Qwikster. This led to an absolute outcry from Netflix fans, suddenly having to deal with two companies rather than one for their content needs. But despite the complaints many people, myself included, could at least see the logic in the decision, and suggested that perhaps it would be the best decision for the longterm good of the company.
