Prime Suspect Synopsis

Prime Suspect is a police procedural drama series that debuted on ITV in 1991.

Prime Suspect follows the story of Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison (played by Helen Mirren) who holds a high position in the British police force. Each episode would follow one of her cases and they were filmed in three and a half hour formats, usually shown in two parts.

Prime Suspect aired 7 seasons with seventh season being the last when Helen Mirren returned to the role after a 7-year hiatus. Prime Suspect won a number of BAFTA and Emmy Awards.
