Netflix’s business is built on delivering rented movies to people’s doors and charging them a monthly fee for doing so. And it’s a pretty damn successful business. However, Netflix knows that the days of physical media are coming to an end, with streaming music and video, as well as software and games delivered via the Internet becoming standard.
Therefore, it offers its subscribers the chance to stream video via its ‘Watch Instantly’ service. Those paying the monthly fees required to rent DVDs get access to over 12,000 movies and episodes of popular television series. Not just available on a computer, Netflix’s ‘Watch Instantly’ has been added to a number of devices, from set-top-boxes to the Xbox 360.
Durham County is a crime television series that debuted on the Movie Network and Movie Central in Canada in May of 2007.
Durham County follows the story of Mike Sweeney (played by Hugh Dillon) who is a homicide investigator in Toronto. After his partner gets murdered and his wife gets diagnosed with cancer Sweeney relocates with his family to Durham County. But once there he realizes his next door neighbor might be a serial killer.
Durham County aired two seasons and in the United States it will be premiere on ION Television in September of 2009.
Defying Gravity is a science fiction drama television series jointly produced by ABC, BBC and CTV that debuted on August 2nd 2009.
Defying Gravity follows the story of eight astronauts aboard of a space ship called Antares. Their travels will last six years and their daily going-ons are recorded and transmitted back to Earth as a part of documentary.
Defying Gravity has been commissioned for 13 episodes.
A spin-off of the classic cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power follows the adventures of He-Man’s twin sister.
When duty calls, Princess Adora transforms into She-Ra in order to protect Etheria from evil.
The show’s primary villain is Hordak, leader of the Evil Horde.
