Dream On Synopsis

The quirky sitcom Dream On follows the life of an imaginative book editor as he deals with his teenage son, ex-wife, and his own personal life.

Brian Benben plays protagonist Martin Tupper while the rest of the cast includes Wendy Malick and Michael McKean.

Much of the show’s charm came from the use of flashbacks to old TV shows and movies.

Online video has grown, and continues to grow, in popularity and breadth of content. The choice of sites, portals, content, and video clips now available is breathtaking.

There are the long-form video destinations such as Hulu and the BBC iPlayer, and short-form video factories such as YouTube and Dailymotion. Between all of them the range of content available to your average viewer is simply astonishing. It would take years to watch it all.

Dad’s Army Synopsis

Dad’s Army is a comedy television series produced by BBC that debuted in July of 1968.

Created and written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft Dad’s Army follows the story of Home Guard in the small town of Walmington-on-Sea during World War II. Home Guard consisted out of volunteers that were not eligible for military service in most cases due to their age.

Dad’s Army aired nine seasons and a number of specials. It was also ranked number four on the Britain’s Best Sitcom list.

Shark Synopsis

Shark is a legal drama series produced by CBS that debuted in September of 2006.

Shark was created by Ian Biederman and stared James Woods as a Sebastian Stark, a famous LA defense attorney who becomes a prosecutor after an unexpected and shocking outcome of one of his cases.

Shark aired two seasons and it was canceled in May of 2008.

Hollywood has been very slow in cottoning on to the fact that how people consume media is changing rapidly. Thus making the same mistake the music industry has made for the past decade. But in the same way as record labels are starting to come round to the change, so are the movie studios.

Film Fresh

The DivX format has been with us for many years but has all but ignored and rejected by Hollywood. Until now. This week has seen four major Hollywood movie studios sign up to offer their movies in the format through the little-known (until now) movie retailer, Film Fresh.

Sony Pictures, Warner Bros., Paramount, and Lionsgate have all agreed to have both old and new titles sold through Film Fresh.

This signals a complete change of pace for Film Fresh, which has up to now mainly focused on independent titles. Probably not through choice though, more forced due to the majors being resistant selling their product via this method.

The Dick Van Dyke Show Synopsis

Created by Carl Reiner, The Dick Van Dyke Show gives an inside look at the makings of a fictional TV show called The Alan Brady Show.

Dick Van Dyke plays Rob Petrie, the head writer of the show while Mary Tyler Moore plays his wife, Laura.

Much of the show’s comedy comes from Dick Van Dyke’s physical comedy and sight gags.
