True Blood Synopsis
True Blood on HBO stars Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse, a small-town waitress with a “disability” – she’s a telepath. Her life changes when she meets Bill Compton, a vampire who just moved to town. After the development of a synthetic blood, vampires have “come out of the coffin” and become legal, tax-paying citizens. However, Sookie quickly learns that vampires are not simply humans with a few quirks.
The offbeat, edgy series, produced by Alan Ball, is based on the Southern Vampire mystery novels by Charlaine Harris. Paquin, an Oscar winner, recently won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Drama. HBO has renewed True Blood for a second season, after it more than doubled its audience from its debut to the season one finale.
