The Pacific Synopsis

The Pacific is a World War II mini-series produced by HBO that premiered on March 14 2010.

Co-produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks and mostly based on two books – With the Old Breed written by Eugene Sledge and Helmet for My Pillow written by Robert Leckie – The Pacific is a 10 part mini-series that follows the story of the two writers and another Marine during the United States Marines involvement in the Pacific Theater of Operations. There will be a book to complimentary the series that is written by Hugh Ambrose and should be published in Spring of 2010.

The Pacific is currently in its first season.
