The Office Synopsis
Based on the cult British series, The Office is a mockumentary (it’s like a documentary, but fake/hilarious) about — you guessed it — an office and the people who work in it.
Steve Carell plays Michael Scott, the regional manager of the Scranton branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. He’s the type of boss who wants to be friends with his employees, which would be great were he not an overbearing and incompetent. He’s also a would-be comedian who insists on trying out material on his workers.
Most of these employees don’t want to be there and/or definitely don’t want to be working for him. The staff includes Pam, the mousey receptionist; Jim, the young dude who plays pranks and pines after the receptionist; Dwight, the dorky victim of Jim’s pranks and Michael’s only sycophant; Ryan the temp; and a slew of others.
