AOL Video & YouTube

Take a look at the screenshot above of what I just found on the AOL Video Portal.

That’s right! That is a YouTube search results page, as it would appear on YouTube.com, but presented on video.aol.com underneath AOL’s own video search box.

A Hoax or is AOL Partnering with YouTube

Is this some sort of hack or trick or is AOL really planning to team up with YouTube for an integrated video search?

AOL already has its very own video sharing site, AOL Uncut, along with many other internet video projects. Why it would want to invite a competitor to be integrated into their own site is unknown? Does AOL not have enough faith in its own video search engine or its video sharing site, AOL Uncut?

Promoting Warner Videos

I notice that the default results are for Warner videos. AOL is owned by Time Warner so maybe this is an avenue to promote the Warner videos on YouTube.

See it For Yourself

You can see YouTube integrated into AOL Video for yourself right here.
