Duty Free Synopsis

Duty Free is a situation comedy television series produced by ITV that premiered in February of 1984.

Created by Eric Chappell and Jean Warr Duty Free follows the story of two couples David (played by Keith Barron) and Amy Pearce (played by Gwen Taylor) and Linda (played by Joanna Van Gyseghem) and Robert Cochran (played by Neil Stacy). These two couples meet while on holiday in Marbella and soon David is rather enamoured with Linda much to the suspicion of his wife.

Duty Free aired three seasons and one special.

Chambers Synopsis

Chambers is a situation comedy television series produced by BBC One that premiered June of 2000.

Created by Clive Coleman Chambers first aired a radio show on BBC Radio 4 and was later on adapted for television. The series follows John Fuller-Carp (played by John Bird) as an egotistical and hard to tolerate head of Forecourt Chambers.

A case which has been running since all the way back in 2004, when the television business looked very different than it does today, has finally ended.

TiVo has emerged victorious, with Dish and EchoStar paying $500 million to end all ongoing patent litigation.

TiVo Vs. Dish, Echostar

In 2004 TiVo, then on the up and up, sued EchoStar (which owned Dish at the time) over its DVR patents for ‘multimedia time warping’. TiVo won the case in 2006, but thanks to endless appeals the case kept trudging on.

TiVo won every appeal possible, and in April 2010 a judge ruled that the two companies would not only have to pay damages but also cease their services. It’s taken another year for a settlement to be reached but that has now finally happened. To the relief of everyone concerned, I’m sure.

Chalk Synopsis

Chalk is a situation comedy television series produced by BBC One that premiered in February of 1997.

Written by Steven Moffat (Doctor Who) Chalk follows the story of teachers working at Galfast High, a comprehensive school run by Eric Slatt (played by David Bamber), a deputy head teacher. The school is constantly is chaos, some of it created by the deputy himself and some of it created by his eccentric staff. New English teacher Suzy (played by Nicola Walker) tries to help Eric to solve of the problems that occur.

Born and Bred is a comedy drama television series produced by BBC One that premiered in April of 2002.

Created by Chris Chibnall and Nigel McCrery Born and Bred follows the story of Dr. Arthur Gilder (played by James Bolam) and Dr. Tom Gilder (played by Michael French). Tom is the son of Arthur and has returned from the city to help his father. The father – son team run a small cottage hospital in the fictional village of Ormston in Lanchashire during the 50s.

Brightcove has been awarded a very broad patent for online video features. Features which are universally used by other sites and platforms. This is either pointless or dangerous, depending on how you choose to look at it.

Brightcove History

Brightcove is a company which offers an online video platform for publishing and distributing content on the Web. It was founded in 2004 and has since built am enviable customer base of high-profiles businesses. The company now streams 700 million videos every month, up from 400 million a month this time last year.

In 2005 Brightcove applied for a patent covering some very broad brush strokes concerning the online distribution of content, including video. Unbelievably, almost six years later and the patent has been awarded. Making it the latest in a long line of inconceivable patents being granted.
