Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Synopsis

The fourth series in the Star Trek franchise, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine follows the crew of a space station instead of the usual starship.

The crew is led by Captain Benjamin Sisco (Avery Brooks), and includes Kira Nerys (Nana Visitor), Odo (Rene Auberjonois), and Julian Bashir (Alexander Siddig).

In later seasons the series would take on Star Trek: The Next Generation characters Worf (Michael Dorn) and Miles O’Brien (Colm Meaney).

2point4 Children is a situation comedy produced by BBC that debuted in September of 1991.

Written by Andrew Marshall 2point4 Children follows the story of Porter family, who are a normal family living in the suburb of Chiswick in London. But more often then not they find themselves in rather unusual circumstances that turn their world upside down.

John Doe Synopsis

John Doe was a crime Science Fiction series produced by FOX that debuted in September of 2002.

Starring Dominic Purcell as the main character, it followed adventures of a brilliant amnesiac found under mysterious circumstances of the coast of Seattle, Washington. Over the course of the series, newly-named John Doe tried to learn about true extent of his capabilities while helping Seattle police solve various cases.

John Doe was canceled after only one season, in the April of 2003.

Andromeda Synopsis

Andromeda is a Science Fiction television series produced by Global Channel that debuted in October of 2000.

Inspired by the unused material left by Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, Andromeda was a Canadian/American space opera based around the adventures of Captain Dylan Hunt (Kevin Zorbo), commander of Andromeda – the last battle ship of now collapsed Systems Commonwealth.

Andromeda aired five seasons.

Star Trek: The Next Generation Synopsis

The first Star Trek series since the 1960s original, Star Trek: The Next Generation follows a new crew on a new USS Enterprise.

The ship is headed by Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), a no-nonsense leader of men.

Other crew members include Worf (Michael Dorn), Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis), second-in-command Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and the precocious Wesley Crusher (Wil Wheaton).

As a trial begins in Italy against Google employees over an offensive user-uploaded video, the question of who is responsible for user-generated content has to be asked. Is it the user or is it the Web site that has to morally and legally take the blame for what is uploaded?

Online Video Wild West

In 2006, before Google had bought YouTube, Google Video was its entry into the online video market. Looking back now, both Google Video and YouTube were pretty lawless back then, with few of the checks and balances on content being uploaded to the sites.

This lawlessness lead to Viacom suing YouTube for $1 billion over the copyrighted clips it claims were allowed on the site. But it also lead to another lawsuit, smaller, and less publicized, but still important.

The Twilight Zone (1959) Synopsis

The Twilight Zone (1959) is a horror Science Fiction television series produced by CBS that debuted in October of 1959.

The Twilight Zone quickly caught the audience with its surreal stories and it’s trademark introductory monologue was told by the show’s creator Rod Serling who also wrote most of the episodes during the series’ initial five seasons run.

The Twilight Zone was canceled in 1964 but it re-emerged in following decades, first as a movie, and then in the couple of less-successful revival series.
