VeZoomStrip - VeZoom Video & RSS Tool | Providing Live Video Feeds For Bloggers

Posted on Wednesday 22 August 2007

VeZoomStripVezoom, the online video search engine, has been working hard to increase the range of features available on the service, and it’s footprint across the whole Internet.

Two weeks ago, we featured a review of MyVeZoom, which provides users with a customizable interface to locate videos from. Now, the service is out to recruit users from the crowd of bloggers.

Riding on the wave of the popularity of online video, VeZoom has come up with a development that combines video with RSS features.

It is called VeZoomStrip and it is intended to allow users to make a video feed that can easily be added to a page. It is a simple copy and paste process.

Posted on Wednesday 22 August 2007

Suprnova LogoSuprnova.org was the be all and end all of Bittorrent sites before The Pirate Bay came along.

And now it has been relaunched thanks to the happy Swedish pirates over at The Pirate Bay.

Besides offering yet another site to grab your warez, including current movies and new albums, the members responsible for the reincarnation have a message for the “non-internet loving companies” out there:

Didja Sneak Preview | The Funny Adverts Video Portal Backed by NBC

Posted on Wednesday 22 August 2007

The uptake of online video by the advertising industry is a pretty logical progression. A picture as they say is worth a thousand words, so god only knows how many words a video is worth; come to think of it what is a single word’s economic worth in advertising dollars? I’m digressing here…

Up until now, VeryFunnyAds has enjoyed virtually no competition for its ad centred YouTube clone. It seems however, as we have reported before, that come 2008 a new kid on the block called Didja will be looking to claim some of the 63 million views that VeryFunnyAds clocked up over the last year.

Google Apologises Over Google Video Shut Down | Offers Customers Full Refunds

Posted on Tuesday 21 August 2007

Google Video LogoIt seems Google isn’t above changing their mind on the back of criticism and negative responses from customers and the blogosphere about decisions they make.

Just over a week ago, I wrote an article detailing the mistakes that Google had made when it decided to shut down its paid Google Video service.

Several other technology blogs displayed similar feelings about the email message that customers received.

Essentially, Google gave customers of the service a 5-day advance notice that the service was closing, announced that any videos paid for would no longer be accessible (even those purchased-to-own).

Instead they would provide anyone who had purchased videos with a small credit in their Google Checkout accounts.

Google Back Track

Well, now the criticism and negative response has paid off, as Google announced last night, via the Official Google Blog, that it apologizes for how it handled the situation and would like to make nice again.

Two new investors have sunk an additional $30 million in online video site Metacafe. Highland Capital Partners and DAG Ventures join several existing investors in the site, which attracts 25 million unique visitors each month.

The cash will be used to fund global growth and to expand the depth of content available through the site’s Producer Rewards program and through partnerships with well known media companies.

Metacafe is defining the next generation of online video, moving away from simple video sharing and hosting to delivering an exceptional entertainment experience for short-form content. Its sophisticated approach to audience-driven programming is unique in the industry.

Mobile TV Interest Wanes | User Survey Reveals Decline

Posted on Monday 20 August 2007

Mobile TV

Mobile TV usage has declined over the past 12 months, a recent survey reveals.

In fact, the Continental Research survey of close to 1000 mobile phone users revealed many advanced mobile phone services have declined in use since last year.

In addition to the decline in mobile TV, the survey found mobile internet access usage had dropped two percent and ringtone downloads were down six percent.

The only advanced mobile services to experience growth were MMS messages and game downloads – both were up a percent from last year.
