Vezoom, the online video search engine, has been working hard
to increase the range of features available on the service, and it’s
footprint across the whole Internet.
Two weeks ago, we featured a review of MyVeZoom, which provides users with a customizable interface to locate videos from. Now, the service is out to recruit users from the crowd of bloggers.
Riding on the wave of the popularity of online video, VeZoom has come up with a development that combines video with RSS features.
It is called VeZoomStrip and it is intended to allow users to make a video feed that can easily be added to a page. It is a simple copy and paste process.
Still Undergoing Testing
The service is still undergoing testing, until its official release next week, but it looks promising and has already received positive feedback in the blogging community. I got a chance to test VeZoomStrip out, and I was quite pleased with what it offers.
The entire process is simple and straightforward, as it should be. I found myself with a customized widget to add to my blog in less than 2 minutes.
During the one-page customization process, users must select a category of videos for their feed to include. Currently there are only 7 to choose from, but there is an option to enter your own custom term.
Then, users must select how they would like their widget to appear. The VeZoomStrip has 4 customized selection (two that run horizontally and two that run vertically) to choose from.
Each contains anywhere from 4 to 7 videos, depending on the dimensions selected.
The following page provides you with a text box that contains the code that you simply cut and paste into your blog, and it is that easy.
Constantly Updating Video Widget
You will have a video widget that is constantly updated with the latest videos, either for your chosen category or your chosen custom term.
Also, as you can see in the screen shot above, there is a preview of your widget, so you can verify that everything is to your liking. If you want to change anything, there is a link to take you back to the settings page to make any modification.
Improvements To Be Made
Since VeZoomStrip has not officially launched yet, I am hoping that there will be more categories to choose from when it finally does.
Also, most viewers will probably want to see details about a video in the widget before they click on its image. Otherwise, they have no idea what video they are about to view, or even what it is about.
VeZoom is hoping that users will also see the additional benefits of incorporating the VeZoomStrip into a web page which they say:-
“goes beyond just the aesthetic, it also acts as a traffic builder and provides an additional level of stickiness that attracts advertisers and builds opportunity to monetize.”
Video is the hot thing on the web now, so it is quite possible that you may experience a traffic increase from a tool like this. I am sure that this will not be the last that you hear of VeZoom.
