One Person is Speaking Their Mind

  1. Shame PeekVid have gone. But what about sites like SideReel? Are they based in the US? They almost appear legitimate, they have schedules, guides etc, yet users are encouraged to provide links to TV shows and films from other sites (usually Chinese).

But I reiterate, it’s a shame Peekvid have gone. I don’t understand why people like the MPAA don’t just whole-heartedly go after those that host the original content. It’s supply and demand surely, the links are out there, so websites like Peekvid will try and get some financial gain etc by linking/providing these sites. If there’s no-one hosting the latest series of Desperate Housewives, you won’t get sites like PV. Simple.

While the whole uploading copyrighted stuff is illegal to an extent, content should be made as freely available as possible on the ever increasing delights of the Internet. Why don’t companies etc try and make a slice of the profit by setting up similar sites available to those outside the US or whichever particular territory? It’s wicked having the ability to search sites for something I want to watch there and then.

And wow, didn’t realise I was writing a whole essay!
