35 People Are Speaking Their Mind

  1. Metacafe does NOT allow ANY full length tv shows or movies on its site, including broken up into parts like on YouTube. They have an 8-minute video rule where anything above it is automatically removed as copyrighted content unless you can prove you created it yourself and own the rights (for their Producer Rewards program).

Thanks Germain – I wasn’t aware they had that rule :)

Moving where you host a website doesn’t mean you can evade the law. They would literally have to leave Australia and move to Panama to avoid the law.

They’ll have moved server because their U.S. host would not want to be involved in such a lawsuit and would refuse to host them.

  4. How moronic to go after a little linking site that no doubt may make money from ads on the site yet none from the available on OTHER sites content !!! If this is a crime then everyone on the Internet that has a link to anything else on the net would be in violation of some kind of law and we’d all be behind bars!!!
I have seen this peekvid site, it’s got links to YouTube and a couple of other sites where the content IS UPLOADED AND STORED but they don’t have content that they claim or possess.
I have links to stuff all over the net (not movies etc although I have a link to peekvid there) and no one has cried to me about offering these services and what about all those MSN My Space Blogs and other services of this type by other providers of web space where the users post links to and even run content from
for others to view? Shouldn’t the content HOLDERS be held responsible? Rather than a couple of little people trying to scrape a living together providing a service that people want ? If I were the MPAA I’d go after sites like YouTube that HOST and allow people to upload anything and everything w/little or no discretion or submission rules. These are the true violators of any (if even this could be held up) copyright infringements and make BILLIONS of dollars from advertisers etc. I think the MPAA is really grasping at straws in a lame duck attempt to fix a much larger problem that they have no idea really as to how to go about doing!
We all post links here there and everywhere, how are we to know
for sure if ANY of them are legal/legit in any way shape or form?
Should we all just say screw the Internet and never post another link to any other sites? I’m not letting anyone try to take that right from me and if I have to be a martyr to stop the insanity and go down for having a link to something I think is of value to the people of the world then so freaking be it !!!
    Peace Out!

  5. Chris, we were reviewing our logfiles and noticed this page url referring visitors to out site. After reading your article we were shocked to see a mention of the company as the responsible party servicing Peekvid’s search, web and advertising management as being Blazin Multimedia. You can refer to our site for a comprehensive list of our clients and Peekvid is not one of them. We would appreciate the removal of this false accusation from your article. Thank you

    Hi Gary,

Thanks for commenting — I was told by either a representative of your company, or someone posing as a representative of your company that Blazin Multimedia handled the marketing for Peekvid — if you would like to contact me for more details please use the email on the about page.

The MPAA is just trying to keep the filmmaker’s pockets full, and mine empty…when are you guyz gonna get it? We are TIRED of paying for things! We are TIRED of watching 22 minutes of commercials every hour! We are TIRED of giving away the money we worked so hard to make! I think a scientist once stated that ‘creative works’ should be completely free. If it wasn’t, we’d probably still think the earth was flat, and the universe revolved around it! I’m glad I live in Canada, where the Motion Picture Association of AMERICA has absolutely NO jurisdiction, and can send threats till they’re blue in the face, and we will just laugh at their temper-tantrums! I hear they are trying to make the MP3 format illegal too. Good luck with that one, boys!

    Final words: MPAA, YOU SUCK!!!

  15. Great information!

Peekvid has had a massive drop in traffic and they have replaced many of their movies with movie trailers! The adverts are extremely annoying and it shows you they have a bad business model.

MovieDownloadMatrix.com has focused more on legal movie downloading and supports the companies that bring quality to online movie watching. MovieDownloadMatrix.com has made mention of Peekvid in the past.

There is much that needs to take place for the improvement of online movie watching and Peekvid may have raised some eyebrows, but their methods are ineffective for the long term.
The legal movie downloading companies need to address the pricing, selection, and software issues, before movie lovers will feel they have received a fair deal.

This will take time and I fully support such companies as CinemaNow and Totalvid. Not only are these two companies legal, but the movie quality is outstanding. Peekvid is running out of sources to keep re-directing poor quality flicks to the masses.
Which would you choose? A crummy bootleg or a high quality flick? I would rather pay a little extra to see the quality :)

PS: I think if we are patient we will see the legal movie download industry make some powerful strides towards a greater movie watching solution, until then I would not bother with Peekvid.

  16. OK so if anyone can file the same and a takedown notice against google then how the heck does movieforumz.com stay open when it’s the biggest illegal movie linking forum out there and not that but there are a lot of upset users because he promotes scamming sites and has porn etc.

Lets face the truth here, money talks and bullshit walks. TV Links didnt host it, people like google video and google youtube did but they have money so they buy there way out of it.

The law is bullshit enforced by an Illuminati global government and if you have money you can buy anything, and that is the truth.

Google are untouchable because they own the internet and co operate with high end governments and freely share your info with them.

Welcome to the new world order!

I think that Peek Vid is an awesome site and should not be shut down because they are allowing people to view movies free.It is all because the producers are losing money and they want that money inside there pocket. That is a stupid reason

  29. not telling u ugly Says:

Go f yourself beacause what did peekvid ever do to u? just leave them alone and sit back at home and watch the awesome movies peekvid has to offer! im not from peekvid but im one of their watchers and ur being a ninny-wit-sissy trying to sue them for having movies and animes and tv shows…go get a life loser

  30. Look peekvid has done nothing wrong. the cable companeies make so much damn money off everyone, and really lost nothing from web sites like this. All peekvid has done is made it alot more convenient then going to youtube. So if you have issues and are upset that peekvid did this, then ignore it, do use this web site, stop bitching and just dont use it if you feel its wrong!

  31. i feel that it shouldnt matter whether big movie industries make extra money from people who show old or new movies and tv shows because they make enough fucking money from people buyin dvds and going to movie theatres or tv channels paying millions to air a tv show i say let there be more free tv show and movie sites because i may want to watch a old show or movie that isnt made for dvd so fuck all you hippie fags who only care about money. do you actually think movie makers deserve to make BILLIONS for just entertaining us? if you do then your stupid
