It is annoying like hell.
you want to see piece of news and you have an overlay offering you shampoo or some crazy nonsense. Instead of focusing on the video you want to watch you inadvertently start reading that nonsense and then you try to kill it. And you miss what you wanted to watch.
I believe this is not going to make Google more money but it is definitely going to kill YouTube.
