  1. I feel the same way about the BBC’s online plans. Wanna trade?

  2. It should be emphasized that they don’t know or care what your citizenship is. It’s limited to IP addresses within the US, a restriction that can probably be subverted by a proxy server.

    Having said that, NBC Direct fails on all other fronts. They need to realize that they are competing against The Pirate Bay and other black or grey market outfits that distribute DRM-free unrestricted files. When they understand that, and make it as easy to get a perfectly legal and above-board download as it is to get the shows from TPB, then they’ll be on a winner.

  4. Absolutely true, this bad long term strategy to lock us out. I’m an avid iTunes buyer of TV shows and I’d definitely even pay a monthly charge to see them on network sites if I could (without no ads in that case).

    It is really a shame that this ever so explorable cultural product is forbidden fruit to a large potential audience.
