Subscribers to AT&T Wireless, Sprint Nextel and other mobile carriers in the US which feature MobiTV now have access to two additional cable network channels: A&E Network and The History Channel.

A&E Television Networks (AETN), which owns both cable channels, believes the deal with MobiTV offers a new service to existing viewers, and it expects to pull new viewers over to its standard cable TV channels through cross promotion.

AETN and MobiTV have partnered together before – AETN provided Spanish and Latin programming to MobiTV back in 2006. A&E Mobile will feature shows such as Dog the Bounty Hunter and Crisis Angel: Mindfreak. History Mobile’s line-up includes Dogfights and Modern Marvels.

MobiTV made news earlier this year after raising $100 million in venture capital funding and partnering with AT&T to deliver IPTV services to cell phones.
