South Park Mocks Viral Internet StarsThe latest episode of anarchic adult cartoon South Park, shown last night in the US, has mocked viral Internet stars who have made their name by starring in videos on YouTube.

Why is that important? Well it’s not really that major until you realise that Viacom, the owner of South Park (the intellectual property rather than the place) is currently suing YouTube for $1 billion.

And as well as the clip being available on the official South Park Studios site, it’s also currently on YouTube, and hasn’t been removed yet despite being up all morning.

Blinkx Launch BBTV | Could The Speech Track Innovation Make This A Joost, Hulu Killer?

Blinkx Launch BBTVYou may think the world already has enough Web TV applications to be going on with.

But the likes of Joost, Hulu, Vuze, Babelgum and more, now have a new competitor.

Blinkx already offer a video search engine, which enables users to browse their way through streaming videos from Google, YouTube, Metacafe and more.

Blinkx BBTV Launched

Now it has decided to try and compete in the already overcrowded online television sector, and today launched Blinkx BBTV (BroadBand TV) on to the masses.

The service offers the usual bells and whistles that you’d expect it to, with high quality video streaming, full screen viewing, and a choice of channels over many genres.

So far, so samey.

YouTube Logo 2As anyone who surfs the World Wide Web on a daily basis couldn’t have failed to notice, today was April Fools Day, and some video sites got involved in the pranking.

The biggest and best one was by market leader YouTube, who decided to take the RickRolling phenomenon and take it global and mainstream.

What Is RickRolling

RickRolling is the trick of getting someone to click on a link to go to a story or page related to the subject at hand, maybe in a forum thread or chatroom.

However, instead of the link that is expected, you’re taken to an image or video of Rick Astley performing his one and only hit from the 1980s, Never Gonna Give You Up.
