It´s not posible to compare this gadget with Apple TV. This one appear to be just a “downsizing image converter” in order to see at you TV Screen what you already see in your computer. It could be useful in college but not to support meedia fusion.

  3. Please note that the TV mentioned here is the traditional CRT TV that’s of SD resolution.
It’s said on their spec sheet that the video resolution is only up to 640 x 480 VGA/SD. This is why they only said InternetVue let you “wirelessly watch browser-based video clips, streaming videos, photo slide shows on TV” instead of saying it can let you watch everything.
So, if you wish to watch some film or video clips on your PC that’s of higher resolution, say 800 x 600 or higher, it’s not going to be able to deliver it.

There is a company located in Fremont, CA, manufacturing wireless HD video transmission systems. Plug and play without any software installation, their system can transmit video quality at resolution of 720p or 1080i, from any HD video source (PC, HD-DVD player, Blueray-DVD player, and so on) to any HD display (HDTV, LCD or CRT computer monitor, projector, and so on). You don’t need any WiFi, WiMax or other wireless devices, just plug in their system on both side (source and display), distant up to 300 ft, you will be able to enjoy HD videos in any room. Yes, the source and the display can be in different rooms.

I compared it to the Apple TV because to the consumer it is just another way to watch videos and pics from their PC on their television and I outlined the differences between them in the article.

I do agree that they aren’t like-for-like devices both serving a slightly different (but very similar) function.

Thanks for clearing up the limitations. This definately is not a device that will impress the hardcore HD fanatic.

  5. [...] Slingbox are also creating the Slingbox which allows you to shows what is on your PC or laptop screen on your TV (similar product can be seen here). It is due for release anytime soon. [...]

  6. I just got a InternetVue PC2TV 2020, the unit will not work with encryption on. It should, but does not. Video has huge lag time if you are viewing in full screen mode. Tech guys were nice but could not resolve the issues.

Sending the unit back and will look for some thing else.

I purchased the device so I could teach with my tablet PC, project whatever is on my screen so my students can see it on a big screen, use software on my PC, and walk around the classroom, put the Tablet on a student desk so the students can share work and not be tethered to the front of the room. It is wonderful. However, sometimes when I am giving a presentation the image is nto full color, it comes up with a definite green tinge. Is there a way to fix this. I give a lot of presnetations and would like to projecto full color, high res images for people to see.
