High Hopes Synopsis

High Hopes is a situation comedy television series produced by BBC Wales that premiered in April of 1999.

Created by Gareth Gwenlan High Hopes follows the story of the Hepplewhite family living in the Welsh town of Cwm Pen-ol. Richard Hepplewhite also known as Fagin (played by Robert Blythe) is a self appointed professor of crime. However due to his agoraphobia his career has been less than stellar. He lives with his mother Elsie (played by Margaret John – Gavin and Stacey) who runs the household. Fagin befriends two robbers who unsuccessfully try to burgle the Hepplewhite home and soon the three of them are scheming various dodgy business ventures.

High Hopes aired six seasons and a number of specials.
