YouTube Sensation Susan Boyle Launches Search For A Singing Star On Google Website

Susan BoyleSusan Boyle, who gained worldwide fame via YouTube, has launched a search for a singing star to duet with on her new album. And she’s chosen the Google-owned site to do so.

YouTube Fame-Making

YouTube

has been responsible for making many stars of ordinary people in the five years since it launched. One of those stars is now giving something back, using YouTube as the means to find a new singing sensation.

Some videos have gone viral to such a ubiquitous degree that the people in them have become household names. I’m thinking Judson Laipply with his Evolution Of Dance, David After Dentist, and the JK Wedding Dance.

Then there are the two filmmakers found via YouTube, make-up artist Lauren Luke, Greyson Chance, and Lucas Cruikshank thanks to his alter-ego Fred. And then there is Susan Boyle, possibly the biggest YouTube video star of all time.

Susan’s Search

Susan Boyle was first seen on Britain’s Got Talent, but it wasn’t until the video clip of her singing in front of Simon Cowell and his fellow talent show judges was uploaded to YouTube that the self-confessed virgin from Scotland went global.

A year later, and Susan Boyle has had her debut album top the charts on both sides of the Atlantic and all around the world. And she has now launched Susan’s Search in order to unearth a new singing talent.

Hopefuls are invited to record themselves singing Silent Night, which they then need to upload to YouTube and submit to Boyle’s official YouTube channel. One lucky entrant as judged by Susan herself will then be given the chance to duet on her new album.

Conclusions

Everyone’s is a winner here. Boyle gets some good publicity, as does YouTube, and one person will be given the chance to make a guest appearance on an album expected to sell millions when it is released. And all thanks to the awesome power of YouTube.
