United States of Tara Synopsis

United States of Tara debuted on Showtime in January of 2009. Created by Academy Award winner Diablo Cody, the story centers around Tara (played by Toni Collette), a housewife and a mother of two teenage children, who suffers from dissociative identity disorder (or in layman terms multiple personality disorder).

United States of Tara has been commissioned for 12 episodes. It has been confirmed the series was renewed for second season and it will air on Showtime in 2010.
