Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is a crime drama television series produced by BBC that premiered in 1979.

Based on book of the same name written by John le Carré Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy follows the story of George Smiley (played by Alec Guinness) who is a retired spy and intelligence veteran. He is forced out of the retirement in a bid to catch a Soviet mole who has penetrated the highest levels of Secret Intelligence Service. The movie version of the story starring Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy will be released in 2011.
