The anime Bamboo Blade is based on the manga written by Masahiro Totsuka and drawn by Aguri Igarashi.

Bamboo Blade follows a kendo instructor named Toraji Ishida, a kendo instructor who is challenged by his former student.

Toraji assembles a team of five female kendo students, including a gifted kendo student named Tamaki.
