Vera Synopsis

Vera is a crime television series produced by ITV that premiered in May of 2011.

Based on the books written by Ann Cleeves Vera follows the story of DCI Vera Stanhope (played by Brenda Blethyn) who is obsessive about her work. She is aided in her investigations by Joe Ashworth (played by David Leon), her long time colleague and surrogate son.

Vera is currently in its first season.
