The Paradise Synopsis

The Paradise is a period drama television series produced by BBC One that premiered in September of 2012.

Based on the book Au Bonheur des Dames written by Émile Zola The Paradise follows the story of a young country girl named Denise (played by Joanna Vanderham) who lands a job in England’s first department store Paradise in the 19th century. There she catches the eye of the store’s owner.

The Paradise is currently in its first season.
