The Kumars at No. 42 Synopsis

The Kumars at No. 42 is a comedy talk show television series produced by BBC Two that premiered in November of 2001.

Created by Sharat Sardana The Kumars at No. 42 follows the story of a well-off, fictional British-Indian family the Kumars. Madhuri (played by Indira Joshi) and Ashwin Kumar (played by Vincent Ebrahim) always supported their son Sanjeev (played by Sanjeev Bhaskar) and when he decided he wanted to be a television presenter, they built him a TV studio in their back yard. In each episode Sanjeev hosted celebrities who had to interact with the Kumars and for their appearance they were paid in chutney. The family also included Sanjeev’s grandmother Ummi (played by Meera Syal). New season will air in 2013.

The Kumars at No. 42 aired seven seasons and four specials.
