The Book of Negroes Synopsis

The Book of Negroes is a historical drama television mini-series produced by CBC Television that premiered in February of 2015.

Based on the book written by Lawrence Hill The Book of Negroes follows the story of Aminata Diallo (played by Aunjanue Ellis), a 17-year old girl who was abducted from her village in West Africa and sold to slavery in South Carolina during the time of the American Revolution. In the United States the series airs on the BET Network.

The Book of Negroes is currently in its first season.
