Planetes Synopsis

Planetes is a Japanese Science fiction anime series produced by NHK that premiered in October of 2003.

Planetes is set in the late 21st century where a group of astronauts work as space debris collectors ensuring that floating trash does not collide with satellites and spaceships. Based upon manga by Makoto Yukimura, the series follows many real-life political and economical problems that might ensue as a result of space exploration.
