Ladies of Letters Synopsis

Ladies of Letters is comedy drama television series produced by ITV that premiered in February of 2009.

Created by Carole Hayman and Lou Wakefield Ladies of Letters is based on a radio program by the same name. The story follows the relationship between Irene (played by Maureen Lipman) and Vera (played by Anne Reid), two elderly ladies who meet at Vera’s daughter’s wedding and stay in contact via letters and emails. Although initially they dislike each other they become close friends over the course of the series.

Ladies of Letters is currently in its second season.
