The anime Koutetsu Sangokushi is based loosely on the Chinese saga Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Koutetsu Sangokushi follows different heroes all battling for power.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms was written by Luo Guanzhong in the 14th century.
