It Could Happen Tomorrow Synopsis

It Could Happen Tomorrow was a documentary new series on The Weather Channel. It postulated scenarios for how a catastrophic weather event could affect a certain city or area, basing its theories on similar events that had happened in the past. The series aired two seasons in 2006 and 2007 and it still repeats frequently on The Weather Channel.

Ironically, the series premiere was originally about on a category 5 hurricane hitting New Orleans. While the episode was being developed, Hurricane Katrina hit and the episode’s focus was changed to a smaller storm hitting New York City. A special episode focusing on Katrina and New Orleans aired at the end of the first season.
