Golden Girls Synopsis
Golden Girls is a situation comedy television series produced by NBC that premiered in September of 1985.
Golden Girls follows the story of three older women sharing a house in Miami. The house is owned by Blanche Deveraux (played by Ruth McClanahan) who finds new roommates through an ad in the local grocery story. They are Rose Nylund (played by Betty White) and Dorothy Zbornak (played by Bea Arthur). Later on Dorothy’s mother Sophia Petrillo (played by Estelle Getty) comes to live with them. The series tackled a number of controversial issues at the time and both the series and the actresses won a number of Emmy awards.
Golden Girls aired seven seasons.
