Borgen Synopsis

Borgen is a political drama television series produced by Danish DR1 that premiered in September of 2010.

Created by Adam Price Borgen refers to Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen, which is home to the three branches of Danish government – the Parliament, the Supreme Court and the Prime Minister’s office. The series follows the story of Birgitte Nyborg (played by Sidse Babett Knudsen), the leader of the Moderate party, who unexpectedly becomes the first female Prime Minister of Denmark.

Borgen is currently in its third season.
