personally, i like this mp3 player a whole lot! i wasn’t expecting this little player to play high quality video, and i really wasn’t looking to buy an mp3 player that played high quality videos. one HUGE thing i really like about this mp3 player is the fact that i don’t have to use iTunes/Zune software to add music to it. the ability to drag and drop music directly onto this device is another reason i bought it. the battery life is also excellent. one huge thing to consider when encoding your mp3 collection for usage in any mp3 player: encode them to 64 kbps stereo, not mono. you really won’t notice a huge loss in audio quality, and you’ll be able to fit a TON more songs into your mp3 player. right now, i have well over 1,003 or so songs on my 4gb mp3 player, and there’s STILL room for me to add more songs. this is all because i encoded my music collection to 64 kbps stereo. of course, you could try to encode to 32 kbps stereo, which i have thought about doing, but there could be a serious noticeable loss in audio quality. if not, then i know for a fact that i would be able to add well over 2,000 songs to my 4gb model.

  4. The top of the Vibe is bare, but the bottom is riddled with openings for a mini-USB connection..

Listen, I received this Philips Go Gear Vibe 4gb MP3 player for my birthday.
I have wanted one ever since they came out and never could afford one.
I like it, but I ran into problems soon after I received it. First, I had to try and set it up. That is so funny and you would laugh yourself to death if you knew how tech-savvy I am NOT.
Somehow, during set-up, the language switch from English to Russian or some language that looks like Russian. I am not a Russian, so I cannot read all it is trying to tell me.
Again, somehow, during clean up, I have lost my book and the mini-disc so I cannot program it right, if I can ever learn Russian so I can read this thing.
I have tried to download some songs and during set-up, I did get some to download, but now it is empty and silent.
Brothers and Sisters, I need some serious help here. If someone can tell me how to switch the language back to English, I will be eternally faithful to you. I can probably find the mini-disc, but as far as the little book goes, who knows.
If someone can lead me throught the steps or maybe there is a copy on the internet that I can dowload. I need some help here and if I don’t find it, my lovely wife is going to turn into a mean lady, as she is the one who bought it for me at Wal-Mart for $39.99, not much but too much to waste.

Thank y’all if you can help me.
