Juliet Bravo Synopsis

Juliet Bravo is a police procedural television series produced by BBC that premiered in August of 1980.

Created by Ian Kennedy Martin Juliet Bravo followed the story of Inspector Jean Darblay (played by Stephanie Turner) and in later seasons her replacement Inspector Kate Longton (played by Anna Carteret) who were both female inspectors who ran the police station in the fictional town of Hartley, Lancashire, United Kingdom. The series dealt with daily challenges in their professional lives. There was no character with the name of Juliet Bravo - it referred to inspector’s radio call signal J B which was pronounced Juliet Bravo in phonetic alphabet.

Juliet Bravo aired six seasons.

Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad Synopsis

Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad was live action series produced by ABC that premiered in September of 1994.

Similar to Power Rangers Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad followed the story of Sam Collins (played by Mathew Lawrence) who gains ability to enter cyberspace after accidental power surge. Steve and the members of his band Team Samurai use their virtual avatars to battle viruses released by evil Kilokahn (voiced by Tim Curry – Rocky Horror Picture Show) – an escaped sentient government program.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? Synopsis

Are You Afraid of the Dark? was Canadian/American horror anthology television series that premiered on Nickelodeon and YTV in October of 1992.

Each episode followed a meeting of Midnight Society: a group of teenagers telling each other scary stories. The bulk of the episode contained the story itself. During its run, Are You Afraid of the Dark? included guest appearance by a number of up-and-coming stars like Jay Baruchel, Neve Campbell, Hayden Christensen, Ryan Gosling, Melissa Joan Hart, Mia Kirshner, Jewel Staite and Laura Vandervoort.

A new political sci-fi drama titled Pioneer One is living up to its name by pioneering a new way of being funded and distributed. Funded entirely by public donations and distributed entirely by BitTorrent, Pioneer One is an amazing success story.

Web Video Successes

Many TV series, movies, and the creatives behind them have succeeded despite being online-only affairs. It arguably all began with LonelyGirl15, a viral Web video series which racked up millions of viewers on YouTube.

Since then we’ve had Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog directed by Joss Whedon and starring Neil Patrick Harris, the Norwegian show Nordkalotten 365, and Blank, a movie made available on DVD and torrent sites at the same time.

These are just the tip of a very large iceberg. Other ways online video has helped the creative process is getting filmmakers noticed, as with Federico Alvarez (Ataque de Panico!)and Patrick Jean (Pixels).

Roku may not have the name or advertising budget of the likes of Apple or Google, but it has a good yet affordable product available. And now that it has a retailer stocking its wares, it may be set to gain a bigger audience than ever before.

Connected TV Market

The connected TV market is an increasingly crowded one, and in such a crowded market there will inevitably be winners and losers.

With such big names trying to stamp their authority on the sector - Apple, Google, Boxee, Logitech - you’d imagine a company such as Roku would struggle to compete, but in fact, things have gone from strength to strength for the young upstart.

After having shifted 1 million devices between 2008 and 2010, Roku is now setting off on the next leg of its tour up the greasy pole of consumerism, with a position on the shelves of Best Buy, the primary electronics retail store in much of the United States.

Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen Synopsis

Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen is a reality cooking television show produced by SyFy Channel that premiered in March of 2011.

Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen follows the story of Marcel Vigneron who was a runner up in Top Chef and who is a molecular gastronomist chef. In each episode Marcel and his team are hired by clients who want them to produce an enticing and extraordinary meal using Marcel’s skills.

Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen is currently in its first season.

The Secrets of Isis (also known as Isis) was Saturday morning live action series about adventures of Andrea Thomas (played by JoAnna Cameron), a high school teacher who discovers ancient Egyptian talisman that gives her powers of goddess Isis. As Isis, she uses her might to help students in need, teaching them valuable lessons in the process.
