YouTube is good for many things: videos of cute kittens, videos of people injuring themselves, free TV shows and movies. What it’s not so good for is sourcing footage for TV shows, because hugely embarrassing mistakes can occur.

Babar Synopsis

Babar is an animated children’s show produced by CBC and HBO that premiered in January of 1989.

Babar was a Canadian animated TV show based upon the highly successful series of children’s books created by Jean de Brunhoff in 1931. The story follows titular character, an elephant, who runs to the big city after witnessing his mother’s death. Babar learns many things there and returns to jungle to help elephants build a better and more advanced society, becoming their king in the process.

Babar aired six seasons.

The Munsters Synopsis

The Munsters is a situation comedy television series produced by CBS that premiered in 1964.

The Munsters was American sitcom in the vein of The Addams Family. The series followed suburban family of monsters: father Herman ( played by Fred Gwynne), his wife Lily (played by Yvonne De Carlo), their son Eddie (played by Butch Patrick), Grandpa Sam Dracula (played by Al Lewis) and their adopted daughter Marilyn (first played by Beverley Owen and later by Pat Priest). Despite its low ratings during the initial run, The Munsters became popular enough to result in a 1980s remake and a series of movies.

Monsters Synopsis

Monsters is a horror television series that ran in syndication and premiered in October of 1988.

Monsters was horror anthology TV series produced by Richard P. Rubinstein who previously worked on a similar series called Tales from the Darkside. The series featured numerous guest stars including Steve Buscemi, Gina Gershon, Tony Shalhoub and David Spade, while several episodes adapted stories by writers such as Stephen King, Dan Simmons, Robert Bloch, F. Paul Wilson and Frank Belknap Long.

The fight to acquire Hulu has been a long (though not particularly bloody) one. It now looks as though either Google or Dish Networks will emerge victorious. That is, if News Corp., Walt Disney, Comcast, and Providence Equity don’t change their minds at the last minute.

Hulu For Sale… Still

Hulu has been up for sale since the end of June (it feels like longer), with the present owners inviting bids for the company, its technology, and exclusive rights to the content for two years. After that, who knows.

The list of potential buyers has slowly been whittled down, and it looks like two have now made it to what could, and really should, be the final hurdle. Then again, all of this is just rumor from ’sources’ that may or may not be real and may or may not know what they’re talking about.
