Blinkx adds VideoJug to search index

39 sec read

BlinkxVideoJug, one of the major instructional ‘How-to’ video sites, has inked a deal with Blinkx to have its videos made available through the Blinkx video search engine.

Blinkx will now go ahead and index the entire library of VideoJug’s instructional videos so they can be found easily in the Blinkx search results.

This of course makes perfect sense. Blinkx can provide access to more content to its users, and Video Jug can gain more visitors, a win-win situation.

Compared to regular Search Engines

However, you’d never really catch a regular search engine inking these sorts of deals. A regular text based search engine will be scouring everything it can find on the net automatically, rather than making deals with what sites it can search.

That’s one of the big differences between the new video search engines and the traditional ones. There’s a lot of human input due to the inherent complexities of video and it’s slowing the whole process down.

There is not a single video search engine that I can say I’m really happy with. So far PureVideo is the closest to being okay.
