LonelyGirl15In case you weren’t aware YouTube recently announced that it will be offering a revenue sharing scheme with its users. YouTube is now joining the likes of MetaCafe, Revver and other video sharing sites that already offer revshare options.

This of course makes YouTube much more attractive to amateur video producers who are reaching large audiences, such as the popular LonelyGirl15 series about a young girl that talks to the world through her WebCam. LonelyGirl15 previously dumped YouTube for Revver over revshare issues.

Miles Beckett and Greg Goodfried, two of the three LonelyGirl15 creators were recently interviewed by TheDailyReel about YouTube’s new revshare system. They said they were "excited both for themselves and for the YouTube community."

All in all the new YouTube revshare system will be great for online video producers. Even though many online video producers felt it unfair that YouTube kept all the revenue for their video, they couldn’t leave the site because it brought such a huge following. But now online video producers get the best of both worlds!
