Doggyspace – A Doggy’s Place With Online Video | Niche Social Sites Breeding On Web

Doggyspace - A Doggy's Place With Online VideoThe Internet is a strange place, with many nooks and crannies lurking in places many of us never visit. This is because the Web caters for almost every niche market out there. If it exists, it’s on the Web.

We all have our own interests, and it’s good that these interests are many and varied, but it also means it is sometimes hard to find like-minded people in your area to talk to about your passion.

The Internet has solved that at a stroke, and you can now be guaranteed of finding someone with a similar interest to you in one of those previously mentioned nooks and crannies.

Pet Lovers Heaven

Pets are one those niche interests, with many people more passionate about their beloved animals than their fellow human beings, and dogs are probably the most loved group amongst these.

This is where sites such as Doggyspace come in, providing a place for dog owners to talk about their pet, upload and share photos and videos, and generally find like-minded individuals from all over the world.

Doggyspace Review

Doggyspace has a very basic look and feel, which is disappointing. In these days of Web 2.0 interactivity and drop-down menus, this site looks like it was built to appeal to the widest range of people, which while not necessarily a bad thing, is not what I’ve come to expect of multi-media type sites.

Even though I don’t own a dog, I registered to see what the site was offering. The amount of information you have to give is quite hefty, with information about yourself, and your dog needed right from the start.

Video Aspects

The video aspect of the site, which we are most interested about here on WebTVWire, is actually the best part about the site. Videos feature heavily on the front page, and are available to watch with one click of your mouse button.

Once you do click, you are treated to numerous clips of people’s dogs doing a range of activities, and if that’s your bag then I am sure it will fill you with glee.

Doggyspace is just one of a growing band of niche sites on the Web which allow users to share information in a similar way to social networks such as MySpace and Facebook. They’re not my cup of tea, but I’m sure they’ll appeal to many.
