Peterson's YouTube Scholarship ContestPeterson’s is a new site intended to make the path to college easier, and less daunting for new and future students. It covers every aspect of the experience from applying to admission and beyond.

The site also currently has an exciting contest happening which uses YouTube to test the ambition and drive of potential students who need a scholarship for college.

What Makes U Special?

The contest basically asks you the question “What Makes U Special?”, a question which requires the recording and uploading to YouTube of a video detailing your response.

They don’t expect you to do this nothing though, as the prize for the best entry, as decided by the video with the most page views on YouTube at the end of August 31, 2008 wins a $5,000 scholarship to an American college.

Favourites So Far

From the entries so far, I have a favourite and a least favourite, which I have embedded for your pleasure below.

Favourite: Entry 11

Least Favourite: Entry 13

YouTube Channel

The contest has its own YouTube channel, so don’t take my word for it, go and watch some videos, and decide which are your favourites too.

This again shows that YouTube can be a force for good as well as bad, and if a kid can win the prize and secure a better future for him or herself after this contest, then that’s one less likely to break the law.
