Yeah well Youtube wouldnt be the size it is if not for all the copyrighted material found on that site.
Youtube has ads. Youtube makes profit. The Guy at TV-LINKS was not selling anything he simply made profit from ads. So someone goes to his site clicks a ad he made some change.

Then they click a link he has leading to youtube and the click a ad on youtube, youtube made some money.

So If you’re gonna charge this man with a crime you have to charge youtube as well.
and the uploader.

If I find a video on Youtube and I tell a friend be it by email be it by phone or a link Im breaking the law? here in america that would be violating my right to free speech.
The Owner of this very site can be charged with this crime, You have ads and Youre linking to Tv-links. You’re profiting Its the same thing. I wouldnt be on this site right now if not for the articales you have up about TV-LINKS. also I have noticed you are displaying thier logo? Do you have permission?

See wha I am getting at here. When you join youtube and upload a video you sign and agree to agreement you will not upload anything you dont own permission to. So there-for when I goto Youtube as visitor I do not know what is pirated and what is not.

So why cant I link to it, after all on every video on yourtube it does give you the link and embed code and suggest you do add it to your website or myspace profile.

If he personaly recieved take down notices and ignored them. and they can PROVE he did in fact recieve them and view them, Then yes perhaps he done wrong. But once again they need to go after youtube or the uploader not the chump linking to content that he has no idea if it was illegally uploaded or not.
But Tv-Links did do more than “LINK” to content. he embeded the videos into his own player that he did in fact host, and he did encode all his URLS so there was no way to tell the source of the videos.

So one can not say for sure that he did not in fact host some of the videos.

But when a site has a youtube embeded player or a direct link back to youtube. I dont see a case.

i dont no why they took off tv links i love tv links what did tv llinks do dont arrest the person who created tv links some people are really mad even me i just knew about tv links right know bring back tv links or make another web site where we could watch free movies. some people dont have an internet or money to watch movies .they dont want to buy a movie and watch it then never watch it AGAIN

Facilitation of copyright infringment…?!? Come on men..!! i can’t believe it… there’s no way linking is illegal, not a chance. that would make us all pirates. why don`t they shut down you tube or google. If that’s the case, I’m sure Google is the biggest “facilitator” of the world… ha ha ha but i’m taking all this in a real cool way, cause i found in sidereel the fountain that calms my thirst for tv series and movies..! LOL so that you can be calm too, here goes the link sidereel Oh, no..!! i just linked and facilitated piracy..!! who’s gonna protect me now..?? ha ha ha

Google isn’t Illegal because if a copyright owner tells them to take down a link they do it:

When they don’t they go to court:

Even when they do abide with takedown requests companies still try to sue Google (sometimes for $1 billion dollars):

And TVLinks was no small site – it was bigger than Fox.com and NBC.com put together, had millions of monthly users, and the guy who owned will have been making about $30,000 a month.

Did he give any of that to the content owners or the EFF.org to encourage fairer distribution of TV content – no who just kept his stolen money. The only thing that guy was thinking about was himself.

This is so dumb! if linkin is illegal .. what about google? so what about linking to these sites? I found a website that is similar they link the website to tvlinks link’s… called boxsweeper … is that illegal too?
