The Roku Netflix Player has nothing to do with making you buy content. I have the player and love it and it is use to access free streams that come with existing subscriptions on NetFlix. Hulu is free to the customer but has adds so actually Hulu has more to gain through offering Julu through the Roku player than NetFlix does. Actually NetFlix is just previewing where they feel things are going in the next 3-5 years when NetFlix will be an on-demand services not mail order. Kudos to NetFlix and Roku for some vision and Hulu and YouTube and the other streams need to get on board. Streams such as Hulu get more money for more eyes on their videos so this makes great sense.
