Your TV license paid to the BBC. The BBC then pays for a license from the content owner to air it on BBC 1, BBC 2 or where-ever.

Most of the time the license that the BBC paid for the video does not include it being allowed to be aired on the internet (hence why only 15% of shows are available on the iPlayer).

Your TV license allows you to watch the shows aired by the BBC when the BBC chooses (or is allowed) to air them.

That said it is not necessarily illegal for you to watch a pirated TV show online – it is illegal for you to distribute it as quite simply – it is not yours to distribute.

is watching a tv show that has already aired illegal to watch on a linked site i do not think it should be for i have already payed a tv licence to watch these programs ( simon form the uK)

Pirated, pirates, pirating, come on already. Did everybody in the whole world buy into this bullshit idea of “Pirates” who share strings of ones and zeros but me?
