I myself am a published writer and filmmaker and I want people to see my work--much of it is available for public display on the Internet. I rarely get paid for the work I create yet, like most artists, I create it anyway and make it available to as many people as possible. That's the whole point--most of us artists want our work seen. This is a form of censorship--preventing people from having access to films and TV shows because some (already overpaid, mind you) multi-millionaire corporate execs are worried they'll remain millionaires and not become billionaires if people are able to watch the movies they "own" on the Internet for free. In fact, these execs (who are already overpaid) in most cases didn't even create the film or music they're claiming ownership of. They "own" it based on contracts the artist (filmmaker or musician) signed with them. This is unearned wealth they're accumulating, and people should be really outraged by the greed behind it. It's a form of censorship. When I get a message from youtube that says "you can't view this movie in your country" I am truly saddened because I am experiencing what citizens of the former Soviet Union had once experienced--and now here in the U.S. Why are people sitting back and accepting this? You can't get rid of illegal material from the internet no matter how much you try 2. Isohunt has a good chance of winning since the material may be copyrighted, but the torrent is not. 3. The admin has a valid point, and shall get the required support. 4. The files they have MAY be against the copyright, but that in no way means the conditions that have been laid out are valid. Would this mean that WebTV wire is in the same boat for linking to IsoHunt? Wow i hope that IsoHunt is strong in this... The current political climate here in Canada is one such that American business interests trump the wishes of Canadians. From what I can see our fractured left is not in a position to do much to slow down the united right. Even as the Conservatives work to destroy everything that is great about Canada, I watch them use the tactics of Karl Rove to get further ahead. And Canadians seem to be falling for it... I always thought we as a country were too smart for this. What bearing does it have on isoHunt? Tons. The Media conglomerates and their lobbyists have offices in Harper's Ottawa. What can be done? Stop buying media from RIAA member companies. EVERY disc bought from one of the 'big-6' media companies puts money into the legal assault against isoHunt, and other great sites. EVERY DVD you buy from an MPAA company is just a lawyer's fee partially paid. They want to cling to their dying business model, let them have it. Just don't participate. Vote with your dollars.
