The problem here is not the speech, it is the reaction to the speech. Sure you can hate what is said. You can argue against it. But don't say it cannot be said. Any religion which sees itself above critical discussion or criticism is seeking to impose its view of the world onto others, possibly against their will. As such, a religion of this persuasion is imho evil. The reaction to someone’s free speech should not make the free speech illegal.
